Bienvenue à l'École Guyot!

École Guyot offers a wealth of learning experiences to our K-8 students. We provide a French-speaking milieu where we take pleasure and pride in honouring and celebrating students’ talents and successes. Every child is unique, and we work hard to respect every student’s academic, physical, emotional, and social development.

Built in 1975, École Guyot is a one-storey school located near the Seine River. The students are drawn from its designated catchment areas within Southdale, Island Lakes, Royalwood, as well as a small number of non-resident students. École Guyot is has 429 students distributed among twenty classes.

The language of instruction is French 100% of the time for students in Kindergarten and Grade 1 and 80% of the time for students in Grades 2-8. English Language Arts, which accounts for 20% of the instructional time, is the only subject taught in English.

French is the language of communication among all staff and students. Communication between school and home is in English. This occurs in the form of e-mails, report cards, parent-teacher conferences, and notices.

A YM-YWCA Before-and-After-School Program for school-aged children and is housed in the building.
