Samuel Burland Personal Device Charter
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
The students and staff at Samuel Burland have created a personal device charter to build an understanding of the responsibilities of using personal devices and technology in a public space. This charter will provide guidelines for the use of personal technology in and out of the classrooms while at school.
We understand that deciding when to give you child a personal device such as a mobile phone, iPad, or tablet can be a big decision. We have compiled resources to help you determine if it is the right time for your child to have a personal device.
We encourage you to take the time to review the resources and have open discussion with your family about the benefits and challenges of these personal devices. Every family is different, and it is an important to make a decision that works best for your situation.
Thank you for your partnership in creating a safe and positive learning environment for the students and staff at Samuel Burland School!
