Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to General Vanier School for what promises to be an exciting year of learning, growth, and discovery! As we prepare for the upcoming year, here are some important details to help kick off the school year smoothly:

Key Dates and Reminders:

• School Office Hours: The office is currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please note that the school will be closed on Friday, August 23rd for floor waxing.
• Tuesday, September 3rd: Professional Development Day for staff. There will be no school for students.
• Wednesday, September 4th: Meet-the-Teacher Day! From 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., students and families are invited to drop in, meet their teachers, and drop off supplies. No appointment is needed – just come by! (Please note: The school will be closed for dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.)
• Thursday, September 5th: Regular classes begin.
• Monday, September 23rd: Professional Development Day for staff. There will be no school for students.
• Tuesday, September 24th: Early dismissal at 2:15 p.m.
• Monday, September 30th: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – No school.
