 Please note our weekly reminders for January 20-24th:

 Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is a vibrant celebration that marks the beginning of a new year on the lunar calendar, often filled with traditions symbolizing prosperity, health, and good fortune. This year, as part of our festivities, students enjoyed coloring pictures of snakes, honoring the zodiac animal associated with wisdom and transformation. Their colorful and creative artwork will be displayed proudly on our bulletin board, bringing the spirit of the Lunar New Year to life in our school community. It’s a wonderful way to learn about cultural traditions and celebrate together!  (See the attached picture)

Cold weather

We ask parents to please make sure your child is dressed warmly for the cold weather.   We want recesses to be an enjoyable break for our students.   With enough warm winter gear, students will be able to stay outside for the whole recess. Also, a friendly reminder to please write your child’s name on tags, as we often have tuques, mittens, hoodies, at the end of the day and they end up in the lost and found (often never reclaimed by their owner).

Bus cancellation

If school bus routes are cancelled in the morning, it means they are also cancelled in the afternoon. Bus cancellations due to inclement weather (when the combined temperature and wind chill is equal to or greater than -45°C) will be posted on the Division's website and announced on both CJOB and CBC radio stations.

 Munchalunch – Domino’s

Tuesday, January 21st is pizza lunch day for those who have already placed an order. 

 PAC Free movie night

Mark your calendar for our free movie night on January 30th! PAC is excited to be showing the movie Wish for families to enjoy. Please note that parental supervision is required throughout the duration of the movie. Those attending can arrive after 5:45, as the movie will start at 6:15PM. Families are also encouraged to bring a cushion from home or a folding chair (if they choose to sit along the wall) to be more comfortable.

 Krispy Kreme Fundraiser

While you’ve got your calendar out, make note of our upcoming meeting, munchalunch dates, and a Krispy Kreme fundraiser coming in March. See the attached flyer for all the events you don’t want to miss!

 Kindergarten information evening

As we begin to prepare for the 2025-26 school year, École St. Germain is pleased to share information about our Kindergarten Information Evening that will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, February 13^th, 2025.  

During the information evening, we will be:

• Sharing information related to what you can expect from our Kindergarten programs (philosophy, overview typical day, etc.).  Please note that Kindergarten is a full day program at École St. Germain. 
• Providing more information about the French Immersion program from K-12.
• Sharing more information related to the registration process.
• Answering questions.

Please note that online registration for kindergarten will be open on Monday, March 3, 2025.
