Weekly reminders for October 14-18th
Good afternoon École St. Germain families,
Please note our weekly reminders for the week of October 14-18th:
No school
There’s no school on Monday, October 14th
Munchalunch – Domino’s pizza
Tuesday, October 15th is pizza lunch day for those who have already placed an order.
Pyjama Day – Wednesday, October 16th
To congratulate the students for their incredible efforts in surpassing our goal of $2000 for the Terry Fox Foundation, the École Saint-Germain community will be celebrating with a Pajama Day on October 16th and an extra recess. These fun and relaxing activities are a way to recognize the students' hard work and dedication.
Photo retake change of date/Revised calendar
Please note that our photo retake date has changed to Monday, November 18th (instead of Tuesday, the 19th). Attached is our revised calendar of important dates for the 2024-2025 school year.
Choir news
Students in Grades 3-5 had their first choir practice on Tuesday, October 8th. Students who are choosing to participate should be bringing a choir contract today. Choir is every Day 1 at 10am, for 6 practices, until the Family of Schools concert on December 12th. More information on this concert to follow for participating students. If your child missed picking up a form, please email jennifer.engbrecht@lrsd.net and one will be sent to you.
Clothing Drive
Once again, our school division will be holding a winter clothing drive during the month of October to support our local community as well as our partner communities in northern Manitoba. Clean, winter clothing that is new or has been gently used can be dropped off at various locations throughout the division and will then be picked up weekly by leadership students and staff and taken to a central sorting facility at the Monterey Board Office. The items will be sorted, packed, and made available to community in early November. More information on how the LRSD community will access the clothes will follow. Please see the attached poster.
Cultery
Kindly ensure to include cutlery in your child's lunchbox. We have been distributing utensils on a daily basis, but the ongoing demand is exceeding our capacity and will no longer be providing cutlery. Your help with this is greatly appreciated!
Cold weather
We ask parents to please make sure your child is dressed warmly for the cold weather. We want recesses to be an enjoyable break for our students. With enough warm gear, students will be able to stay outside for the whole recess.
Extra set of clothes
We ask parents to please pack an extra set of clothes (or two) in your child’s backpack. Packing an extra set of clothes will minimize the interruptions for parents and teachers.
