Mission Statement:
The Niakwa Place School Parent Association exists for the purpose of promoting a safe, open, inclusive and cohesive learning environment while encouraging the principles of good community and global citizenship. The Association will work in participation with school staff, students, parents/guardians, and members of the Louis Riel School Division to create a setting where all parties can realize success.
Parent Involvement in PAC:
- All parents and guardians of children enrolled at Niakwa Place School are considered to be General Members of the Association
- Positions are available on an annual basis for those wishing to serve on the PAC Executive
- Parent meetings are held approximately once a month during the school year. We encourage all parents, guardians, and staff to participate in these important meetings. All meetings are advertised by notices and emails.
- Parents are encouraged to watch the LRSD emails and the Niakwa Place School Parent Advisory Council Facebook page for current news, announcements, and activity information.
- Parents may communicate with the PAC Executive by sending emails to nps.pac.president@gmail.com.

Executive Committee member descriptions:
Chairperson – Convenes and presides at all meetings of the Council and shall consult with the other executive members in the preparation of an official agenda for all meetings; May appoint subcommittees where authorized by the Council; Shall ensure that the actions of the Council are consistent with the mission statement and objectives; Shall assist any other Executive Member with their duties as required; The President does not vote, except as a tiebreaker vote in the event of a tie.
Vice Chair – Shall assume the responsibilities of the Chair in the Chair’s absence; Shall accept other duties as required by the Executive Committee.
Treasurer – Shall assume the responsibilities for all financial transactions on behalf of the Council; Shall complete and maintain accurate financial records of all monies received or paid out; Shall keep and maintain records in compliance with Revenue Canada requirements and shall file all required tax information as required by Revenue Canada; Shall present current financial statement at each meeting of the Council; Shall present detailed annual financial statement at each Annual General Meeting; Shall make financial records available for scrutiny by the executive committee at any time.
Secretary – Shall assume the responsibility for keeping full and accurate minutes of all meetings of the Council, which must include a list of persons in attendance at any given meeting; Shall maintain a record of minutes for a minimum period of two years.
Executive Member At Large (three positions) – Shall attend meetings and assist other Executive Members as required.
