Sharing Learnings About the Hijab
A group of female Muslim students from École George-McDowell recently visited École St. Germain to share knowledge and celebrate the hijab and their Muslim faith. Each ÉGM student shared why the hijab is important to her and why she wears or doesn’t wear hijab. St. Germain students had lots of great questions, such as:
“Do you sleep in your hijab?”
“How do you go swimming in your hijab?”
“How many colors of hijab do you have?”
Afterwards, the Grade 7 and 8 ÉGM students showed the St. Germain students how to put on their own hijabs. Lots of fun and learning was had. It was a beautiful teaching and learning moment for everyone involved. We are so proud of the leadership, passion and generosity of our George-McDowell students.
