Grade 9
Physical Education and Health 10F (PE10F)
The Grade 9 Physical and Health Education curriculum is delivered via an activity block system. The program is based on achieving learning outcomes in the Physical and Health Education curriculum. Students are provided with a planned and balanced program in order to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for physically active and healthy lifestyles.
Student Learning Outcomes include:
- Movement
- Fitness Management
- Safety
- Personal and Social Management
- Healthy Lifestyle Practices
The students will work towards the Learning Outcomes through a variety of activities which may include:
- Individual/group/team activities: Spark, badminton, basketball, flag football, soccer, softball, low organized games, team handball, volleyball, weight training, winter activities, fitness, floor hockey, ultimate, kin-ball, leisure pursuits
- Theory based activities: fitness, weight training, human sexuality, mental and emotional health, values and beliefs, healthy relationships, first aid
- Integrated topics: team work, fair play, citizenship and sport etiquette and goal setting for personal health
Additional information: Students are required to bring appropriate physical education attire (non-marking athletic runners, sweats or shorts, and a T-shirt or sweatshirt) and are expected to fully participate in all activities.
Grade 10
Physical Education 20F (PE20F)
Prerequisite: Physical Education and Health 10F

Additional Information: Students are required to bring appropriate physical education attire (non-marking athletic runners, sweats or shorts, and a T-shirt or sweatshirt) and are expected to fully participate in all activities.
Grade 11
Physical Education: Active Living Focus 30F (PEAL30F)
Prerequisite: Physical Education 20F
Content: This programming will focus on individual and recreational pursuits, as well as outdoor activities. Activities may include power walking, cycling, ice skating, circuit training, orienteering/geocaching, tennis, cross country skiing, and community field trips. Course content will include an out of class practicum.
Additional Information: Credit will be reported with a complete or incomplete designation. The ability to work and set goals independently is essential. Students are required to wear athletic shorts or sweats, a t-shirt or sweatshirt and non-marking athletic shoes during physical activity.
Physical Education: Sports Fitness 30F (PESF30F)
Prerequisite: Physical Education 20F
Content: This programming will focus on encompassing a variety of competitive sport options and is intended for those looking for a traditional sport option that will allow for more intense competitive play. Course content will include an out of class practicum.
Physical Education: Health & Wellness Focus 30F (PEHW30F)
Prerequisite: Physical Education 20F
Content: This programming will focus on building confidence and competence in a wide range of physical activities within a safe and inclusive environment. Activities may include, Zumba, dance, Yoga, Hot Yoga, circuit training, and fitness classes at community facilities such as Shapes. This course will include a specialized unit on biological health. Course content will include an out of class practicum. A $50.00 course fees is required to cover the costs of guest instructors such as Zumba, yoga and self defense as well as admission for field trips to Shapes, Orange Theory, 9 Round, and wall climbing.
Physical Education: Personal Fitness 30F (PEPF30F)
Prerequisite: Physical Education 20F
Content: This programming will focus on personal goal setting and progression through individualized weight/cardio room training programs. Course content delivery will consist of 50% in-class and 50% out of class practicum.
Grade 12
Physical Education: Active Living Focus 40F (PEAL40F)
Prerequisite: Physical Education 30F Credit
