Grade 9-12 ISP Fees for 2024-2025 School Year
Grade 9 -12 International Student Program for 2024-2025 School Year - Effective October 13, 2023, subject to change.
Note:
- There are two semesters in an academic school year: September to January and February to June.
- Full payment is due 90 days prior to program start date.
- Failure to pay on time may result in the application cancelation or student dismissal. Cancelations of Letters of Acceptance and Student Dismissals are reported to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

New students: effective date of medical insurance is September 1 or February 1.
Returning students: effective date of medical insurance renewal is July 1.
Withdrawn students: medical insurance will be cancelled 5 calendar days after official date of withdrawal.
To issue the Letter of Acceptance and/or Custodianship Declaration (if applicable) a minimum tuition fee payment (1500 CAD seat deposit) is required. Tuition fees cover expenses associated with a conventional high school program. Additional fee payments may be required for extracurricular activities, yearbooks, etc. Costs associated with the graduation ceremony and celebration are also an additional charge, payable to the schools directly.

Grade 9-12 ISP - Refund Guidelines
Grade 9-12 International Student Program - Refund Guidelines - Effective 22 March 2024, subject to change.
General Information:
- All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Louis Riel School Division International Student Program (ISP) at isp.admissions@lrsd.net. Verbal notices will not be accepted.
- The Secretary Treasurer & ISP Director must approve all refunds.
- The Application Fee and Deferral Fee are non-refundable.
- The Health Insurance Fee is non-refundable, once issued.
- Refund processing may take up to 6 to 8 weeks after the refund is approved, and all required signed forms and supporting documents have been received.
Definitions:
ISP start date : September 1 or the program start date indicated on the Letter of Acceptance.
ISP drop date : 30 days after the ISP start date.
Tuition Fees Refund Policy
Full Refund
A full refund of the tuition fee (less any fee paid to an agent and a $250 processing fee) will be granted if any of the following conditions apply:
- The student’s application for a study permit and/or visa is denied by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) before ISP start date. Proof is required.
- The death or serious illness of the student or immediate family member and notification is received before ISP start date. Proof may be required.
- Notice of voluntary withdrawal is received 90 days or more before ISP start date.
- A parent/legal guardian receives a Work or Study Permit 90 days or more before ISP start date and the student is under 18 years. Proof is required.
- The student and/or his/her parent(s)/legal guardian(s) become a Permanent Resident or Refugee prior to September 30 of the school year and the student is attending a school in the Louis Riel School Division on September 30 of that year.
Partial Refund
A partial refund of tuition, prorated where necessary, less any commission paid to an agent, and less $250 processing and $1500 seat fees, will be granted if any of the following conditions apply:
- The student’s application for a study permit and/or visa is denied by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on or after ISP start date. Proof is required.
- The death or serious illness of the student or immediate family member and notification is received on or after the ISP start date. Proof may be required.
- Notice of voluntary withdrawal is received less than 120 days before the ISP drop date.
- Request to defer enrolment to next intake is received less than 120 days before the ISP drop date. Seat fee is not retained if proof that the student’s permit processing time is taking longer than the processing time posted on the IRCC site is presented. A deferral fee applies.
- A parent(s)/legal guardian(s) submits a copy of Work or Study Permit on or before September 30 of the school year, and the student is under 18 years. Study Permit holder must provide a Letter of Acceptance with a Program Start Date prior to September 30.
No Refund
No refund will be granted unless the email request and subsequent refund form are submitted within the time period indicated above.
No refund will be given if any of the following conditions applies:
- The student’s study permit or visa is revoked by IRCC for just cause.
- The student is dismissed from the program because of a violation of the Laws of Canada and Manitoba, Louis Riel School Division’s Code of Conduct, or the ISP Terms and Conditions of Program Participation.
- The student is dismissed from the Program for not maintaining the required course load at school and/or not maintaining good academic standing and regular class attendance.
Homestay Fees Refund Guidelines
Full Refund
A full refund of homestay fees will be granted if any of the following conditions apply:
- The student’s application for a study permit and/or visa is denied by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) before ISP start date. Proof is required.
- The death or serious illness of the student or immediate family member and notification is received before ISP start date. Proof may be required.
- Notice of voluntary withdrawal is received 90 days or more before ISP start date.
Partial Refund
A partial refund of homestay fees will be calculated and granted if any of the following conditions apply:
- Notice of intent not to participate in the Homestay Program is received less than 90 days before ISP start date. A fee equal to one month will be retained by the Program.
- The student is dismissed from the Homestay Program or voluntarily withdraws from the Homestay program, whether initiated by the student or the ISP, the Program will retain the fee for the current month plus the following month.
No Refund
No refund of homestay fees will be granted if any of the following conditions apply:
- The student is away for travel for any period of time during a month.
- The student departs before the end of the last month of homestay participation.
Post-Secondary ISP Fees for 2024-2025 School Year

Post-secondary ISP Refund Guidelines
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Louis Riel School Division International Student Program (ISP) at isp.admissions@lrsd.net. Verbal notices will not be accepted.The effective withdrawal date will be the date the International Student Program of Louis Riel School Division receives the email of withdrawal.
Note:
- The Secretary Treasurer & ISP Director must approve all refunds.
- Application Fee is non-refundable
- Medical Insurance is non-refundable after issue
- Refunds are subject to a $250 processing fee.
- The seat deposit ($1500) is non-refundable*
- Refund processing may take up to 6 to 8 weeks after the refund is approved, and all required signed forms and supporting documents have been received.
- Deferrals are not considered for ATC programs

Fees for Grade 12 Students ONLY
If you are a Grade 12 student and would like to attend the grad dinner and safe grad. Possible additional costs may apply:
- Dinner ticket - approximately $80/person
- Safe grad ticket - approximately $50/student
- Grad suit or dress/shoes/accessories - average of $300-$500
