Dakota Collegiate’s student school fee is $90 for both semesters or $30 for one semester. This can be paid online once your student is registered. The fee can be paid in full or in multiple payments throughout the year. The student school fee goes toward a yearbook, student ID card, lunch supervision, support student council, student activities/events, school clubs and Physical Education. Minimum purchase of one yearbook per family is required to lower the cost and maintain the quality and features of our yearbook.
Our school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m. A school day consists of 5 periods: A, B, C, D, E, with a common lunch break for all students from 12:15 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. It is expected that Grade 9s will eat their lunch in the library and assigned classrooms. During study period (spare), students are encouraged to leave the building or use this time to study in the school library.

All students at Dakota Collegiate are expected to bring a laptop or netbook computer to their classes.
A reminder to parents who drive their children to school, we encourage an alternative drop off location, off school property, to ensure student safety. Winnipeg Transit busses will continue to run to and from south St. Vital before and after school, with drop off and pick up locations along the east side of Dakota Street, closest to the school. Student bus fare required.
On behalf of the Dakota Collegiate staff, welcome.
