Announcing the Retirement of Michelle Bacon
The LRSD Board of Trustees accepted the retirement notice for Michelle Bacon on Jan. 21, 2025.
Michelle began her career in the St. Boniface School Division in 1992. She taught at Collège Béliveau from 1992 to 2015, serving as a junior high and high school math teacher, a home economics teacher, and later as a student services teacher. In 2015, she transitioned to the role of Student Support Services Coordinator at the divisional level.
In 2017, Michelle was appointed Vice-Principal of École Varennes, where she continued to make a positive impact on students and staff. Michelle joined the École Van Belleghem community as Principal in 2022, where her career in the Louis Riel School Division will end.
Michelle believes in the power of collaboration, valuing the ideas of others and recognizing the strengths each person brings to a team. She is committed to fostering an educational environment where students and staff are engaged, taking an active role in learning, and developing life-long learners and contributing members of society. For Michelle, education is not just about acquiring knowledge but about creating meaningful opportunities for students and staff to grow, connect, and thrive.
Michelle’s dedication for 33 years to the Division is greatly appreciated and we wish her all the best in retirement. Michelle, nous te souhaitons nos meilleurs vœux pour une retraite active et heureuse !
