LRSD Students Engage in Dialogue for Racial Equality

LRSD high school students and Izzeddin Students from Louis Riel School Division's (LRSD) seven high schools came together at the LRSD Board Office to commemorate the March 21 International Day of Eliminating Racial Discrimination.

During this significant event, students had the privilege of hearing the inspiring story of our guest speaker, Izzeddin Hawamda. His stories deeply resonated with our students, emphasizing the significance of identity, reconciliation, and collective action in combating racial discrimination.

Furthermore, students actively participated in enriching discussions, where they brainstormed innovative strategies to address and eliminate instances of racial discrimination within their schools. These dialogues provided a platform for our students to voice their perspectives, share experiences, and collectively envision a more inclusive and equitable school environment.

We commend the passion and commitment demonstrated by our students in championing the values of diversity and respect. Together, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering a school culture where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered.
