Announcing the Retirement of Carole Rondeau
The LRSD Board of Trustees accepted the notice of retirement for Carole Rondeau on February 20, 2024.
Carole received her Bachelor of Education from the Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface in 1993 followed by a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Special Education in 2002.
Carole taught in various French immersion schools before permanently joining the Louis Riel and legacy division of Saint-Boniface in 1998. She taught in elementary schools – École Henri-Bergeron (1998-99, 2002-2007), École Van Belleghem (1999-00), and École Guyot (2001-02) – before transitioning to a Student Services position at Collège Jeanne-Sauvé in 2007.
I had the opportunity to work closely with Carole during her time as Student Services Teacher at École Henri-Bergeron. Her ability to form positive relationships with students and parents strengthened their sense of belonging and contributed to improved learning and social development. Her ability to mentor colleagues resulted in improved professional practice.
Later in her career, Carole leveraged this skill in her role as Itinerant Early Literacy Teacher. Carole was particularly adept at using assessment to inform instructional practice, a skill that she modeled for colleagues throughout the Division.
Carole will end her career as the Vice-Principal of École Guyot, a role she has held since 2019. During this time, her leadership has greatly influenced teaching and learning. Of particular note is her contribution to the successful addition of Grades 7 & 8 to École Guyot.
Carole is to be thanked for her dedication to the French Immersion program and her ability to inspire students to embrace the French language. Her contributions to teaching and learning in LRSD are not only noteworthy, but greatly appreciated. Tu nous manqueras, Carole! We wish you the best as you start this next chapter of your life.
