Hé-Ho in the Spirit of Tradition

École Varennes and Lavallee School partnered up for festivities and traditional Indigenous games to celebrate Festival du Voyageur on Feb. 20, 2024. 

The two schools enjoyed the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers, a lunch of Bison stew and Bannock, and a beautiful afternoon of outdoor fun!

"The entire event was nothing short of spectacular, and it's evident that an immense amount of thought, care, and planning went into every aspect of it," said Nicole Mager, Principal of Lavallee School.

Students cheered and danced along to engaging outdoor activities such as bonfires, hot chocolate, sledding, and hula hoops.

With hearts full of joy and appreciation, the students and staff look forward to future collaborations that celebrate diversity and heritage.
