Manitoba Association of School Social Workers recognizes Kim Mackey

The Manitoba Association of School Social Workers (MASSW) has recognized one of our school social workers, Kim Mackey, for her outstanding contributions to the Social Work profession.  LRSD wants to congratulate Kim for her outstanding work.

Kim possesses a 23- year tenure as a dedicated Social Worker, with a fervent commitment to engaging with children, youth, adolescents, and their caregivers.  Over the past 5 years, she has made impactful contributions as a school social worker in the Louis Riel School Division, leveraging her experiences as a certified clinical trauma and resilience practitioner.  Kim’s training in narrative therapy, DBT, ACT, and circle of courage underscores her comprehensive skill set.

An integral member of both clinical and school teams, Kim approaches her work holistically, fostering positive change within the realms of crucial relationships and environments.  Her inclusive and secure environments are pivotal in facilitating transformative experiences for staff, students and caregivers.

Kim’s influence extends beyond her direct practice as she plays a pivotal role in founding the Manitoba Association of School Social Workers.  Driven by an unwavering passion, she actively champions the cause of School Social Workers in Manitoba, advocating for the welfare of School Social Workers and spearheading opportunities for professional development.

In light of her holistic support for staff, students and families, her pivotal role in the establishment of MASSW, and her empowering initiatives for marginalized individuals and systemic change, Kim is undeniably deserving of the recognition from MASSW.  Her multifaceted contributions epitomize a profound dedication to the advancement of social work and the well-being of those she serves.
