Boys and Girls Club Comes to Lavallee and Victor Wyatt
On June 26, during Lavallee School's Family Fun Night, the Louis Riel School Division announced a new partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg to allow the Club to use the Division's René Deleurme Centre for recreational programming. The Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg will begin using the Centre in September for enhanced student and community recreational programming for the Lavallee and Victor Wyatt school communities.
This partnership is in response to community feedback that children would benefit from increased access to high quality evening and weekend programming for children that would allow them to be active, develop healthy lifestyles and learn positive decision-making skills through recreational activities.
"We look forward to the increased partnership and our ongoing collaboration with parents and families to strengthen the community and enhance school outcomes for our students," said Darcy Cormack, Principal of Lavallee School and the René Deleurme Centre.
"The Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg is excited to partner with a second school in the Louis Riel School Division," said Ron Brown, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Boys and Girls Club. The Club has worked with the Victor Mager school community for many years.
The René Deleurme Centre is located at 511 St. Anne's Road and hosts a range of programs that support students from pre-school to adulthood.
