Provincial Funding and LRSD's Upcoming Budget
At the beginning of February, Minister of Education Cliff Cullen announced that the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) will receive an increase of $837,681 in our operating funding from the province, which is a 1 per cent increase from what we received in 2020-2021.
All school divisions in Manitoba have been requested to freeze their local school year education property tax at 2020-2021 levels. To offset that reduction in funding, the province is providing LRSD with a $2.1 million Property Tax Offset Grant.
Here is the breakdown of funding for LRSD and other school divisions across the province.
We will share more details about what this means for LRSD and our budget for 2021-2022 at our Draft Budget Town Hall Live Event and Public Consultation on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Please register here.
